NBA Finals -- The practice buzz prior to Game 2

PhilBoxing.com

OAKLAND -- The questions today at The Finals media availability focused on Cleveland avaliers point guard Kyrie Irving's fractured left patella.

Irving underwent successful surgery today to fix his broken knee cap at the Cleveland Clinic by team physician Dr. Richard Parker.

Here are some of the responses from both sides.

LeBron James (Forward, CLE) on being more aggressive in light of Irving's injury

"Well, if I got more aggressive than 36 shots (laughing), I might have 58 of them things tomorrow night. I don't know how much more aggressive you want me to get at this point."

James on talk of the Cavaliers being "written off" with Irving out of the series:

"Well, first of all, I don't really know what the noise is outside. I haven't heard about anything, obviously, besides just Kyrie being out. That is the only thing I've heard. Understand that we was the underdog coming into the series, and with Kyrie being out people are writing us off. So, I mean, that's fine. That's fine. I'm motivated to get our guys ready to go tomorrow, and we will be ready."

Stephen Curry (Guard, GS) on how Irving's absence will affect his game plan:

"I'm going to play the same way. I play aggressive. We're going to run the same offense. And no matter who is guarding me, nothing about the way I play changes. "

Iman Shumpert (Guard, CLE) on the pressure to produce with Irving out:

"I don't think it's pressure at all. I think the other guys are just getting more opportunities?. But I think at some point over the season everybody has shown that they can score balls. Guys have confidence in each other that the ball will move more and they'll find different guys, and every guy needs to step up and play."

Klay Thompson (Guard, GS) on his approach to the game:

"A lot of people are going to say the series is over, but that's not true. This is a team that is more than capable?. So you have to respect what the other guys can do. Like any other team, someone's going to go down and someone's going to step up. Obviously, Kyrie's a huge part of the team. He's one of the best players. But you can't let your guard down. They've still got guys who are capable of making plays."

Draymond Green (Forward, GS) on what kind of Cleveland they'll be facing without Kyrie Irving:

"Inspired. A motivated team that's led by LeBron James."
