NBA Playoffs - Cavs eliminate Bulls in lopsided Game 6 By Anthony Rozic PhilBoxing.com Fri, 15 May 2015 ![]() CHICAGO -- The Bulls' rollercoaster season came to a stunning conclusion on Thursday night at the United Center where the Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated them from the playoffs with a lopsided 94-73 Game 6 victory. LeBron James shot poorly (7-of-23 from the field for 15 points) while Kyrie Irving injured his knee and played only 12 minutes. But the Cavaliers found an unlikely hero in Matthew Dellevedova as they clinched the hotly-contested series, 4-2. Playing in place of Irving, Dellavedova scored 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting, including 3-of-6 from long distance. The back-up point guard also helped limit Bulls star Derrick Rose to just 14 points and six assists. Rose, the 2011 league MVP, made only 7-of-16 shots, missed all 3 of his triples and did not go to the free throw line. After taking a slim 33-31 first-quarter lead, the Cavs outscored the Bulls 25-13 in the second quarter to take a stranglehold of the game. They led by as many as 27 points. Tristan Thompson finished with 13 points and 17 rebounds for Cleveland while Iman Shumpert, who fueled the Cavs' second quarter surge, also had 13. J.R. Smith drilled three 3s to settle with 12 markers. James was all praise for his sidekicks, especially Dellavedova and Thompson, "These guys work their tails off every single day when you guys are not around. Yes, I'm a little surprised because of how we've handled the postseason so far. These are first-timers right here. They want to be good, they want to be great, and every single day they prepare the right way," James said at his post-game press conference. Jimmy Butler topscored for the Bulls with 20 but he made only 8-of-22 shots. No other Bull besides Butler and Rose registered double figures in points. Chicago shot a dismal 37.5 percent from the field (30 of 80) and 20 percent from 3-point range (4 of 20). The Bulls were also crushed on the boards, 53-32.
