MANNY, PLEASE JUST SAY YES TO BOXING FANS, DON?T SPURN MGM GRAND ARRIVAL

PhilBoxing.com

It has always been a grand boxing tradition for high profile fights to have a grand arrival at the site of the bout, not only for the fighters to have an opportunity to mingle with the fans but also to hype and sell more tickets.

The Mayweather-Pacquaio bout, also known as the Fight of the Century does not need any more propaganda. It sells by itself. Or should I say, it sold out by itself. So I can probably understand Mr. Arum?s convoluted point of view as a promoter. However, it is difficult to understand Mr. Arum?s reasoning that Manny Pacquiao, does not need a show and all the hoopla.

Manny, this time, please just say no to Bob Arum.

The grand arrival, the show, the hoopla and the excitement of your presence is for your fans.

It is not for the media to meet you in a sterilized ballroom somewhere in the bowels of the massive Mandalay Bay.

Manny, you owe it to your fans to be at the MGM for a ?grand arrival?. This event is probably the one and only opportunity that the vast majority of your loyal and adoring fans would get a chance to catch a glimpse of you. With absolutely no likelihood of getting, much less affording the outrageously priced tickets even at face value and unimaginable insane six figures in the after-market, boxing fans deserve your presence no matter how inconvenient the hoopla could become.

Your fans would descend to Las Vegas from all over the US, the Philippines and the world spending their hard earned money knowing that they are there just to be near where the Fight of a Lifetime will happen and be able to proudly say, ?I was in Las Vegas when the megafight happened?.

These fans have no delusion of being able to hobnob with the one percenters attending the fight. But they are merely hoping to be able to join in the festivities, enjoy the moment, soak the experience and see you from a distance.

The usually free Friday afternoon weigh-in would also be a difficult event to crash for the regular fans. What with the robocalls devouring the lion share of the $10 tickets which will end up being sold in the secondary market inflated into the stratosphere.

Manny, you are an honorable man. You are the boxing idol of the masses. Let somebody else play the villain.

I am highly confident that you will not disappoint and do the right thing for the fans.

Just say yes.
