NBA -- Bucks hold off Magic behind Middleton's 30 points By Nestor Ortiola PhilBoxing.com Thu, 12 Mar 2015 ![]() CHICAGO -- With the race for playoffs berths in the lower end of the Eastern Conference standings heating up, the Milwaukee Bucks took care of business at home on Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Khris Middleton scored 30 points for the second time in three games and the Bucks edged the Orlando Magic, 97-91. Middleton missed only five of 17 field goals and notched five assists with three rebounds in 42 minutes of action. The four other Bucks starters all finished in double figures with Ersan Ilyasova logging 12 points, while Giannis Antetokounmpo and Michael Carter-Williams registered 11 apiece. Zaza Pachulia added 10 points with 12 rebounds. "Khris is playing at a very high level for us on both ends. We can go to him in the post or on the perimeter. He's knocking down shots," Bucks head coach Jason Kidd told ESPN. With a 34-30 record, the Bucks remained in sixth place in the East but their lead is narrowing, just five games up on the 29-35 Miami heat, who are clinging on the 8th spot. The Charlotte Hornets are outside looking in with a 28-35 card. Despite fading out of postseason contention with a lowly 21-65 record, the Magic gave the Bucks a run for their money and entered the fourth quarter all tied up at 72. Ultimately, though, Orlando fell after shooting just 40 percent from the field (34 of 85) while Milwaukee notched a high 49.4 percent clip (39 of 79). Orlando made more triples, 10-8, but the Bucks dominated the glass with a 51-33 rebounding edge. Nikola Vucevic paced Orlando with 19 points and Tobias Harris got 17.
