No, Pacquiao has no T-shirt with a message to Floyd

No, Manny Pacquiao does not have a t-shirt with a cryptic message to Floyd Mayweather Jr. two months ahead of their mega-bout.

The famous or infamous red shirt with a yellow Pacman image gobbling a dollar sign that Manny was wearing - it's fake, it's photoshopped, it's non-existent.

And the media picked up on it like wildfire, even composing articles about the non-existent shirt to boost the May 2 fight between the Filipino superstar and Mayweather Jr.

The Washington Post, Bleacher Report wrote an article about it (both have acknowledged that it's photoshopped ) and it was even picked up by the Philippine media like the Inquirer and even ABS - CBN.

Even the World Boxing Organization, (WBO) tweeted the said photo on it's official Twitter page, of where it was picked up by most media outlets.

The photo on these articles showed Pacquiao in training wearing the said shirt with the design, but there's a problem - it's an old picture which taken in 2013 by Reuter's Tyrone Siu when Pacquiao was training for his fight with Brandon Rios in Macau, and the t-shirt - it's not the same one.

In it, Pacquiao is seen wearing a red Nike shirt with his famous MP logo on the right as he trained at the basement of the Venetian Resorts days before fighting Rios.

Someone very creative erased the Nike and MP logo and inserted the yellow "Dollar-gobbling Pacman design, and now it's a news item.

As you may know, Pacquiao's moniker is that of the famous video game character and Mayweather's alias is "Money" - hence the dollar signs.

Pacquiao trained lightly in the Philippines last week before flying to Los Angeles last Saturday. But he was not seen wearing that red shirt when he trained at his gyms in General Santos City and in Manila.

But because of it's creativeness and the buzz it has now created, expect similar t-shirt designs by many enterprising individuals in the coming days, as Pacquiao fans gear up for the much anticipated bout between their favorite boxer and the undefeated Mayweather Jr.

After all, this is the Fight of the Century right?

Here are some photos by Philboxing.com's Wendell Rupert Alinea when Pacquiao was training at the Venetian Resorts in November of 2013. Notice the shirt?
