NBA -- Rockets end losing skid versus Clips with 110-105 win By Franco Ching Alsay PhilBoxing.com Fri, 27 Feb 2015 HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets ended a six-game losing streak against the L.A. Clippers on Wednesday, winning 110-105, at the Toyota Center. James Harden led the Rockets with 21 points and 10 assists, but teammate Corey Brewer stole the show by scoring 13 of his 20 points off the bench in the fourth quarter. Donta Motiejunas also turned in a fine effort for Houston with 18 points and nine rebounds while Trevor Ariza had 17 as the Rockets improved to 39-18, third place in the Western Conference. "It feels a whole lot better than getting beat by them. They were beating the tar out of us. We had a heck of a time staying in the games with them, to be truthful. We got blown out a lot of those games...We looked at a lot of stuff and looked at film yesterday. Normally, I don't prepare to just beat one team. Normally, we say 'this team will stress this part of our defense' but we kind of work on our team and our game all the time but we really worked hard the last couple of days on just what it takes to beat the Los Angeles Clippers. They've had our number. It was good to get that win," Rockets head coach Kevin McHale said after the game. "We started the fourth quarter getting into transition, playing with energy and moving the ball, we're tough to beat and I feel like right away, that's what we did in the fourth quarter and we were able to get up ten and up thirteen and we were able to get the win," said Brewer. Chris Paul scored 22 with 14 dimes while DeAndre Jordan had 22 points and 19 boards to lead the Clippers. Click here to view a list of other articles written by Franco Ching Alsay. |
