Pacquiao and Mayweather in unison: No deal yet
By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Tue, 17 Feb 2015

In the gold rush to break anything substantial about the fight of the decade, boxing scribes and websites are quick to the draw to write anything and everything about the much anticipated bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
With articles that name no identifiable source and with question marks on their headlines, the need for speed and the need to break the news first, has backfired on some boxing and news sites that have prematurely written that a deal for May 2 in Las Vegas had been reached.
In the last than 24 hours, Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao refuted news that a deal has been finalized for their mega-bout.
Mayweather, during the NBA's All Star Game in New York last night stated that most that we read and served daily have been falsehoods.
"That is not true. I have not signed yet and he has not signed yet. It?s just been speculations and rumors. But I am hoping that we can make the fight happen.?
Pacquiao in an interview with Philboxing's Ronnie Nathanielsz in Manila supported his potential dance partner's statement that a deal has not been formally agreed upon by both.
"There is no contract but there is an agreement," said Pacquiao who returned to his duties as a congressman Monday.
Pacquiao also supported another of Mayweather's remark that May 2nd is the most probable date of their fight - once ink from both their hands gets to paper.
"There's a big chance it will happen on May 2,? added Pacquiao in the interview.
Mayweather in the live TV interview during the All Star Game remarked that "I'm Mayweather, we have to make it happen in May."
While both camps iron out kinks in their negotiations, fans grow weary and doubtful if they'll ever see boxing's two most popular boxers in the ring.
After all, May 2nd is only less than 10 weeks away.
