PINOY PRIDE 29: Mexicans go for KO against ALA boxers

PhilBoxing.com

DAVAO CITY (Feb. 4) -- The dangerous Mexicans are all aiming for a knockout win against their Filipino rivals from the ALA Boxing Stable in the Pinoy Pride 29: Fist of Fury set Saturday night at the University of Southeastern Phils. (USEP) Gym in Bo. Obrero.

This was revealed in today?s presscon held at the Tower Inn by Mexicans Cesar ?El Dolar? Chavez, Juan Luis ?Perla Negra? Hernandez and Julio Cesar ?Pingo? Miranda.

With the help of translator Enrique Romel Romero-Salas, the Mexicans said that they all come here ?ready to fight and win?.

Chavez (23 wins, 11 KO, 7 loss), a challenger, said that he will knockout in just five rounds reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) International junior welterweight champion Jason ?El Nino? Pagara (34 wins, 21 KO, 2 loss) of the Philippines in their 12-round title fight.

Hernandez (17 wins, 9 KO, 3 loss, 1 draw), on the other hand, vowed to knockout in just four rounds the undisputed WBO Intercontinental junior featherweight champion Genesis ?Azukal? Servania (25 wins, 11 KO) in their own title-fight for the 122-pound division.

The 22-year old Miranda (38 wins, 29 KO, 11 loss, 2 draws), however, did not mention any round but said that he is also eyeing for knockout in his 10-round fight against ?King? Arthur Villanueva (26 wins, 14 KO).

?He (Miranda) is also looking for a knockout too,? said trainer Monica Abedith Rico of King Melo Boxing Stable.
The Mexicans will finally face their rivals on Thursday in the official presscon set at 11 a.m. at The Royal Mandaya Hotel according to ALA Boxing Promotions vice-president Dennis Canete. The official weigh-in is on Friday at the SM City Annex Davao.

Also present at the presscon were Sukkasem Keityongyuth of Thailand and Stevi Ongen Ferinandus of Indonesia, who will be fighting against Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo (10 rds.-126 lbs.) and Arjan ?Spartan? Canillas (8 rds.-137 lbs.), respectively in the undercard.

Also pitted are Vic ?Vicious? Saludar of Cotabato against Lester John Pronco of Malaybalay (8 rds.-106 lbs.) , Rafael Sueno of Bacolod vs. Arnold GArde of North Cotabato (6 rds.-106 lbs.) and Brian ?Buhawi?
