NBA -- Cavs dethrone Kings, win ninth straight
By Adeline Deladisma PhilBoxing.com Sun, 01 Feb 2015
CLEVELAND -- LeBron James ignored the discomfort of a hurting wrist and recorded 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals to help the Cleveland Cavaliers dispatch the Sacramento Kings, 101-90, on Friday night at the Quicken Loans Arena.
James, a four-time league MVP, made 7-of-16 field goals in 33 minutes and the Cavaliers won their ninth straight. With a 28-20 record, Cleveland remains in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, but with their ongoing streak, they just trail the 30-19 Chicago Bulls by 1 1/2 games for fourth place.
"It was a little sore, obviously being in live action, but it was good," LeBron said of his ailing wrist.
Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving made sure James didn't have to solely carry Cleveland on his massive shoulders. Love finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Irving accounted for 21 points and six assists. J.R. Smith added 16 points and the Cavaliers hit 38 of 80 shots for a high 47.5 percent clip.
DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings with 23 points and 13 rebounds while Rudy Gay had 20. But the Kings, who dropped eight in a row, made only 30 of 83 field goals (35.7 percent) and went just 3-of-18 from above the 3-point line (16.7 percent).
