Adones, Palicte, Thais make weight limit By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Sat, 31 Jan 2015 REIGNING WBC Asian Boxing Council and Philippine junior welterweight champion Adones Cabalquinto, Aston Palicte and their separate opponents from Thailand all made the second weigh-in as required by the International Boxing Federation this morning (Jan. 31) at the Royal Mandaya Hotel. IBF bout supervisor and Games and Amusements Board (GAB) supervisor Mathew ?Fritz? Gaston conducted another mandatory weigh-in to Cabalquinto, Palicte and their rivals Denkamon Pakdee Gym and Jomyuthlek Sor Narongchai, respectively. Although Palicte and Narongchai already passed their weight-limit during Friday?s first official weigh-in at 115 and 114 lbs., respectively for their agreed 114 lbs., they were still ordered to be check the following morning (Jan. 31) by the IBF. ?We want to be sure that after the weigh-in they will only gain a maximum of 10 pounds from their agreed weight as allowed by the IBF rules,? said Gaston. Palicte added nine pounds at 124 while Narongchai only tipped the scales at 117 lbs. today. Cabalquinto, on the other hand, had no problem yesterday as he exactly tipped at 140 lbs. while Pakdee Gym was still 142 lbs. in his first attempt. He was advised to jog and exercise and after two hours, Pakdee Gym came back to make the weight at 140 lbs. In today?s second weigh-in, Cabalquinto made the maximum allowed weight of 150 lbs. while Pakdee Gym scaled at 146 lbs. ?Okay lang yun kasi hindi sila nag-exceed sa maximum allowed na 10 pounds,? Gaston said. Cabalquinto and Pakdee Gym will be fighting for 12 rounds for the vacant IBF Asia junior welterweight title while Palicte and Narongchai will fight for 10 rounds for the vacant IBF World Youth super flyweight crown. Only two pairs were required to make another weigh-in based on the IBF rules while the rest of the fighters in the undercard were only check once last Friday. They are Drian Francisco, 120 lbs. against Jason Egera, 118 lbs. (119 lbs.-10 rds.), Marlon Tapales, 121 lbs. against Jecker Buhawe, 121 lbs.(119 lbs.-10 rds.), Marvilo Aballe, 115 lbs. vs. Ronerex Dalut, 114 lbs. (116 lbs.-8 rds.), Jay-Ar Inson, 133 lbs. vs Gabie Siempo, 135 lbs. (135 lbs.-8 rds.), Philip Parcon, 127 lbs. vs. Rimar Metuda, 127 lbs. (127 lbs.-8 rds.), Orlie Silvestre, 106 lbs. vs. Ryan Raloso, 104 lbs. (105 lbs.-8 rds.), Rene Mark Cuarto, 106 vs. vs. Gerald Paclar, 104 lbs. (105 lbs.-6 rds.), Aries Benavidez, 110 lbs. vs. Jayson Sanchez, 109 lbs. (109 lbs.-4 rds.), Jose Ravelo Aballe, 113 lbs. vs. Sammy Caballero, 111 lbs. (112 lbs.-4 rds.), and Ronnie Baldonado, 107 lbs. vs. Baltazar Susas (106 lbs.-4 rds.) Also present during the weigh-in were GAB Davao officer-in-charge Arlene Olondriz, Sports, Games and Recreation officers John Kenneth Improso, Datu Fahd Yasser Sinsuat and Cecilia Bravo. It was witnessed also by MP Boxing Davao stable chief trainer Raides ?Nonoy?
