DEAR FLOYD

PhilBoxing.com

The clock is ticking.

?January 31? is coming to an end. It may be literal or proverbial, but who cares? The hours or days are running fast and impatient to seize your concluding, defining moment. Grace is about to ?lapse.? Every round of the clock?s hand carries with it the chance of a lifetime for you, or the weight of a wooden hammer to nullify a golden opportunity for greatness in boxing.

Meet your toughest challenge inside the ring, not in a basketball court. You?re driving media crazy. They doubted yesterday only be to be optimistic today and be pessimistic again tomorrow. Therefore stop considering other tomorrows for ?Mayweather vs. Pacquiao? because there is no tomorrow except May 2, 2015. It?s now or never for the long-awaited, much anticipated, sickening Mega Fight between you and Pacman. Forget Bob Arum. Or, better yet, love him.

Don?t take seriously Michael Koncz?s surprising flattery of you just hours ago because nobody knows exactly who, among those involved in the negotiations, is sincere. Though, it behooved you and Manny Pacquiao to listen to the people because that?s the sure and impartial way to finalize the ?agreements.?
Sign the contract, or sigh forever.

You need no pen at this point to affix your signature on any document. Your loud ?yes? to the ?contract? drafted by the people would be good enough a Mayweather signature above the dotted line for people to be assured that the bout between you and Pacquiao will ultimately get materialized, whatever minor issues still need to be threshed out in the ongoing talks.
Doors are closing.

If ?February 1? would arrive without your open signature on the ?contract,? and with Pacquiao virtually being out of the picture, you have only the Klitchko brothers left in your stable for the two remaining contracted bouts you have with Showtime. And that is for fans to believe you?re not cherry picking opponents, and you?re not fooling them the next time you claim to be the best.

The odd has always been in your favor. But why fear ?fear?? Why can?t you believe in yourself when the number of ?experts? who believe in Pacquiao pales in comparison with that who believe in Mayweather, if and when you tangle and dance together on the ring?s canvass. What?s wrong with your heart when you?ve shown gallantry in the past fighting mighty opponents? And what?s good about the ?zero? in your record if it will give you zero mark in the people?s estimation and history?s judgment?

?You may delay, but time will not.? - Benjamin Franklin

Note Floyd: No earth dweller will likely watch any of your future E.T. shows, not even blind creatures from UFO, as a continuing protest over your refusal to face Pacman. The ?agreement? is forthright equitable, and it is revealing the truest you. Think of it, who else in his right mind would believe ?you? after you turn down the reasonable ?contract?? This is not about Pactards or Floydiots. This is about you and Mayweather legacy, much more than about money, the fans, Pacquiao and the sport.

Won?t you do yourself or ?Floyd Mayweather Jr.? a favor? Can?t you allow ?destiny? in its time before the twilight is gone? Who isn?t tired? And who does not long to bid goodbye to this never ending saga of pugilistic animation?

Rest assured, though, the sport will move on and boxing could even be better without you fighting Pacman on May 2 for as long as, afterwards, everything would be treated in a just, fair, prudent and upright manner. And with that I mean you?re going to lose legacy, history and practically all of boxing. Except, of course, the tons of fading riches you?ve already amassed out of a brave?s game you?ve converted into a marathon, by wrecking the meaning of ?pound-for-pound,? and from painting clowns out of ?innocent? aficionados.

Do great, man, and so bring smile to faces all over the world.
Be truly wise.
