NBA -- Suns guards too hot for Nuggets
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Fri, 28 Nov 2014

CHICAGO -- The Phoenix Suns' guard play is one of the NBA's worst kept secrets. And on Wednesday night at the US Airways Center, the visiting Denver Nuggets found out how good that backcourt is.
Combo guards Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic combined for 41 points and 14 assists to lead the Suns past the Nuggets, 120-112. Bledsoe and Dragic sank 14 of 23 field goals and pulled down six rebounds between them.
Besides an explosive backcourt that fueled 23 fast break points, the Suns got plenty of help as five other players scored double figures in points.
Gerald Green got off the bench for 24 points, including six triples. the Morris twins -- Marcus and Markieff -- combined for 29 points and 15 boards while P.J. Tucker and Alex 10 had 10 apiece.
Fresh off a long six-game road trip, Phoenix showed little fatigue and run neck-and-neck with the high-octane Nuggets offense, finishing the opening half at 64-64. The Suns then distanced themselves from itself from Denver with a 29-22 third quarter spurt.
"It was probably a tough game for us coming off the long road trip. To fight through that little bit of tiredness, these guys just kept playing and I'm proud of them," Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek told ESPN.com after his team improved to 10-6, good for 8th place in a tough Western Conference.
Tyson Lawson was spectacular with 17 points and 12 assists. Wilson Chandler had 19 while Arron Afflalo and Timofey Mozgov added 18 each. But the Nuggets made only 39 of 90 field goals, including just 8-of-25 from 3-point range.
The Nuggets fell to 7-8.
