NBA -- Grizzlies pound Clippers, stay on top of standings By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Tue, 25 Nov 2014 CHICAGO -- The Memphis Grizzlies destroyed the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night and remained the only team unbeaten at home in this 201-415 season. Marc Gasol made sure the Grizzlies had a clean slate at the FedEx Forum by making 13 of 18 field goals and finishing with 30 points and 12 rebounds as Memphis manhandled the visiting Clippers, 107-91. At 12-2, Memphis sits all alone on top of the NBA standings. "When you make jumpers, it forces the defense to come out. It creates shots for other people and I'm happy with that," Gasol told ESPN.com as six other Grizzlies scored in double figures while the team made 42 of 85 shots overall. Zach Randolph only had 10 points but he pulled down eight rebounds. Tony Allen contributed 12 points with five dimes and Courtney Lee added 13. Beno Udrih and Quincy Pondexter chipped in 11 apiece to round up the Grizzlies' balanced attack. The Clippers shot 32 of 77 field goals, a decent 41.8 percent clip on the road, but Los Angeles was mangled on the boards, 52-32. The Clips also had six assists less than Memphis' 20. Chris Paul led Los Angeles with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists but his sidekick, Blake Griffin, turned in only 12 after missing 12 of 17 field goals. Jamal Crawford scored 19. Deemed as one of the championships contenders this season, the Clippers dropped to a disappointing 7-5. (Homer D.
