NBA -- Bulls clobber Clips to stay unbeaten on the road
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Wed, 19 Nov 2014

CHICAGO -- Trailing by 14 points late in the second quarter, 46-32, and playing without injured stars Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol, the Chicago Bulls looked ripe for the picking on Monday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
But instead of rolling over, the never-say-die Bulls buckled down pulled a remarkable upset by stinging the Clippers, 105-89.
Taj Gibson, who started in place of Gasol accounted for 20 points, five assists and six rebounds was the main architect of the triumph. Jimmy Butler assisted big-time with 22 points and eight dimes while the rest of Chicago's starters each scored in double figures, including Joakim Noah, who had 11 and pulled down 16 rebounds..
Chicago's comeback began late in the second quarter and went into full riot in the third period where the Bulls outscored the Clippers, 31-14. At the 7:56 mark of the final quarter, the Clippers were pretty much done and trailed by 18, 89-71.
The Bulls are now unbeaten on the road after six tries and their 6-0 start is the best since the 1996-97 season. But head coach Tom Thibodeau doesn't want his Bulls to rest on their laurels and told reporters "In this league, when you start feeling good about yourself, that's usually when you get knocked down so we've got to keep that edge."
Jamal Crawford led the Clippers with 24 points off the bench. Blake Griffin had 19 and 10 boards while Chris Paul finished with a quiet 12 and seven helpers.
The Bulls improved to 8-3 for third place overall in the Eastern Conference while the Clippers dropped to 5-4 and a disappointing 8th place in the Western Conference. (Homer D. Sayson)
