"OLD MAN" HOPKINS IN A JUNGLE FIGHT WITH ?LION? KOVALEV
By Reni M. Valenzuela PhilBoxing.com Sat, 08 Nov 2014

The magic is in the heart, not in age.
Bernard Hopkins is old, but not too old to be as young as Sergey Kovalev inside the ring tomorrow. At almost 50, it?s not only that Hopkins ?The Alien? seems to have the strength of a youthful boxer or lover. He has the heart of a tiger versus a wild lion in Kovalev that have the capability to devour him and turn the whole arena into a jungle, literally.
Therefore unless Hopkins converts himself into becoming a young Tarzan who knows how to swing back and forth in the air with his forest ropes, he may end up to be a Forrest Gump who goes about life recklessly.
Kids are reckless, mature men are not.
It?s a wonder that Kovalev is a power punch monster (26-0-1, 23 KO) whose all 23 knock out wins came inside three rounds. However, if it is impossible for The Alien to knock out The Krusher, we?d rather delete ?amazing? out from Webster?s book of words.
Only crooks have no right to defy anybody.
Hopkins doesn?t only defy age and biophysics. He defies his opponents. He has a world of advantage over Kovalev beyond logic and boxing ability because he can be the old man who is wise and experienced. Yet at the same time he can be a bull or tiger for being forever young (at heart) and marvelously juvenile in muscles. Old Hopkins thinks like 22 and is physically vibrant. So forget about age when he fights Kovalev in Atlantic City hours from now. For Hopkins, age in boxing as it is in love, doesn?t count.
Never mind your age. The God of youth and wonder is in the passing of years. Have faith? How you view life decides how old you are, not your birthdays.
Be yourself.
