By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Fri, 31 Oct 2014

LAS VEGAS -- WBO honored its two previous world champions Joe Calzaghe (L) and Oscar de la Hoya (R) with specially crafted belts for being inducted into the International Hall of Fame batch 2014 during the 27th WBO Convention Gala Night held at the Caesars Palace Thursday evening. WBO President Francisco 'Paco' Valcarcel (C) awarded the belts to Calzaghe and De La Hoya.
Calzaghe, from Wales, United Kingdom, retired undefeated in 2008 with a record of 46 wins, no losses and no draws with 32 knockouts. He won the WBO super middleweight title on Oct. 11, 1997 and defended it 21 times until Nov. 3, 2007. His last two fights were non-title fights against Bernard Hopkins (April 19, 2008 in Las Vegas) and against Roy Jones Jr (Nov. 8, 2008 in New York).
De La Hoya (39-6-0, 30KO) from Los Angeles, CA, first won a WBO title in 1994 as a super featherweight and defended it once before moving up to a higher weight. He also won WBO titles in the Lightweight and Middleweight divisions.
