Former Champion Fabio Bettini Passes Away at 73 By Per Ake Persson, BoxingScene.com, Fri, 06 Jul 2012 Former French middleweight champ Fabio Bettini has passed away at the age of 73 at a hospital in Seinte-Saint-Saint-Denis. Bettini was born in Italy but emigrated at a young age with his family to France. He began boxing at 16 and turned pro at 21 in 1960 and fought professionally through 1974.
