Star-studded 2017 NBA Finals at The Q PhilBoxing.com Sat, 10 Jun 2017 CLEVELAND -- For the 10th time in as many years, PhilBoxing.com's NBA page writers have been credentialed to cover the NBA Finals. In this year's championship series, writers Joan Secuya-Medida and Henrick Macalintal received credentials to cover the Warriors games at the Oracle Arena while Paolo Catapang and Anthony Rozic got credentialed to games at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Your truly is pulling a double duty covering these Finals for PhilBoxing and SPIN.ph where I also serve as U.S. editor. Just like previous Finals, this is a dandy, pitting the two best teams in the league who are fighting it out for the title for the third consecutive year. Wednesday night's Game 3 was a thriller to remember as the Golden State Warriors came from six points down, 113-107, with only 2:25 to go in the final quarter. The Cavaliers, who now trail the series 0-3, didn't score the rest of the way while Golden State went on an 11-0 run capped by a huge Kevin Durant 3 with 45 seconds left. Rascals Flats sang the national anthem, firing up the capacity crowd of 20,562. The halftime entertainment was a blast, a dude named Christian and his dog performed some serious acrobatics that defied the imagination. Among the celebrities who showed up included Khloe Kardashian, the girlfriend and Cavs forward Tristan Thompson, and race car driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. A slew of former NBA greats who now do TV work were assembled at the Quicken Loans Arena. Among the famous faces were Charles Barkley, Chris Webber, Shaq, Brent and Jon Barry, Dennis Scott, Mark Jackson, Caron Butler, Paul Pierce, Jalen Rose, Dell Curry, Tracy McGrady. Dwight Howard of the Atlanta Hawks and Vince Carter of the Memphis Grizzlies were among the active players who made an appearance in Game 3. After falling short last season, where they finished the regular season at 73-9, the Warriors are making a run at history again, this time as the first team to possibly win the championship without losing a single game. They are currently 15-0 The hoopla returns today at the Quicken Loans Arena for Game 4. Photos: PhilBoxing NBA page editor Homer D.
