PAZOS: SERVANIA HITS HARDER THAN ORLANDO CRUZ PhilBoxing.com Mon, 29 Oct 2012 (Minglanilla, Cebu) Last week in Kissimmee Florida, Mexican warrior Jorge ?El Ferroz? Pazos (20-5-0, 13KO) challenged the WBO Latino Featherweight champion, WBO ranked #4 Orlando Cruz (18-2-1-9 KO) in a highly watched matchup. The orthodox fighter Pazos knew this would be the fight of his life and a career defining moment if he could win against the southpaw Puerto Rican Olympian Cruz. Pazos admitted that he has a hard time against southpaw fighters but trained hard for this fight with some southpaw fighters. Pazos lost by unanimous decision to Cruz in the battle for the WBO Latino Featherweight Championship. Pazos stated, ?Cruz was fast and moved a lot but he never hurt me.? Filipino fans can remember Pazos in his fight against Genesis ?Azucal? Servania (19-0-6 KO) for the WBO Asia Pacific Super Bantamweight Championship in Pinoy Pride XV held in Cebu City this past August 18. This scribe had a conversation with Pazos to get a comparison on his two opponents. Lopez: Who hits harder, Servania or Cruz? Pazos: I have to say that Servania hits way harder than Cruz. Lopez: Did Cruz ever hurt you? Pazos: Never! Lopez: Did Servania ever hurt you? Pazos: Yeah, Servania did?but I stood my ground and kept on fighting. Lopez: Servania is a Super Bantamweight and Cruz is a Featherweight, who is a better fighter in your opinion? Pazos: SERVANIA! He has more power and is more technical. The short inside punches is where Servania has power. Cruz likes to run and no power in his punches. Lopez: Cruz made headlines all over the sports world by declaring he was ?GAY BOXER?, did this have any effect on you fighting a homosexual? Pazos: No, he is a man, he has two hands and he is a boxer. Inside the ring is what matters, not outside the ring. Lopez: If Servania would move up to Featherweight division to fight Cruz, who do you think would win? Pazos: Servania would beat him. Click here for a complete listing of columns by this author.
