A Big Big Thank You!

This is the perfect opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to everyone who showed their support with regards to my latest boxing fight at Hilton Hotel Las Vegas titled "Pinoy Power 3". The decision given by the judges was not in my favor but what keeps my spirits high was that many people sent messages telling me that I have made a valiant stand and I never backed down from the fight even if I had been bumped in the head twice and received some low blows more than twice. As I boxer, I know all the hazards of the profession and I take all things that was thrown my way positively...
A big thank you goes to the following persons:
- To my manager, Billy Keane, which has always been there for me and attending to my every needs, even to the smallest detail. I am very lucky to have found someone who is not only a manager but also a very good friend.
- Freddie Roach who has been my trainer. Working with him at the Wild Card Gym has been great. The same goes to Alex Ariza who was my conditioning coach. Freddie and Alex has proven working relationship and I am lucky I got to work with them.
- To my brother Carl who was the assistant trainer and to fellow boxer Diosdado Gabi and to my protege Michael Farenas. They were my constant companion and my room mates.
- My In laws: Mark, Stock and Shandee who came all the way from General Santos Cityand stayed next door with us at Vagabond Inn. They spent more than 2 weeks to keep me and my wife company while I was busy with intensity training at Wild Card Gym.
- To my Kumpare, Manny Pacquiao who was with me at the Wild Card Gym throughout the training. The Pacman is also busy preparing for his upcoming fight with Joshua Clottey. His wife, Jinkee arrived from Manila and watched the fight with Manny. I am very grateful because she kept her promise to Goody to watch the fight and even hired a private plane who brought them to Vegas and flew them back to Los Angeles after the fight
- To Team Pacquiao - Buboy and Blas Fernandez, Michael Koncz,Joe Ramos, Nonoy Neri and the rest ot the team.
- To the Rufino family: George, Priscilla and Grace, who came with us to Vegas and prepared some foods along the way.
- To our good friends Leah Ting and Jane Pestano, US-based Pinoys, who visited us at the Vagabond Inn and had some bonding time with me, my wife and my wife's siblings.
- To the local and US based Mediamen who made interviews and gave me and my boxing space in their publication.
- To friends and boxing fans who came to Vegas to see the fight personally and showed their support like Boots and son Jason Aniel from San Francisco, Santi and Thelma Cahilig from New Jersey, to those who came from California such as Digna Gonzales, Nick and Ana Cataluna, Brian and Charmaine Burgunio, Ronald and Charm Sanchez, Mr. and Mrs. Bebot Elorde and to cousin in-law, Jam Llido from San Jose, California.
- Former PBA player and a good friend Osting Villanueva and his brother Jack, based in Vegas but he came to California to see me and my inlaws off at the Los Angeles Airport.
- To all boxing fans who bought the tickets and subscribed to pay-per-view
- To my wife Goody who took care of my personal needs; from my clothes to my diet as supervised by Dr. Orbeta and to my two kids JC and Jullienne who are my constant source of strength and inspiration.
- And very very huge thank you to our Almighty Father for without Him, all things are not possible.
I am aware that there are still many people who were not included in the above list but just the same I am grateful for the support you have extended to me and to all Pinoy boxers. To those who believed that I am the winner even if the judges favored against me, Maraming maraming salamat!
I am now enjoying my time with my family...spending quality time with my kids JC and Jullienne. I am planning of giving them a vacation in Disneyland when we get back there on March to watch Manny Pacquiao's fight against Joshua Clottey. With regards to my future plans as a professional boxer, i will give my official statement within the next few weeks.
