Farenas vs Somkhao, Bangis ng Kamao's Main Event

Mandaluyong Gym will be the venue of the first boxing event of the decade as Michael Farenas battles Thailand's Sathian Somkhao for a 10-round non-title fight on Friday January 8,2009. This is another boxing event sponsored by Businessmen and Sports Enthusiasts Jay San Pedro and Washio Kosuke and in collaboration with Ronnie Nathanielsz of the Main Event Boxing Show.

Farenas boasts of a 26-2-3 boxing record and 23 wins by way of knock out. He has also astounded boxing fans by his impressive win over Walter Estrada of Colombia at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Nevada USA. On another note, the Thailander Somkhao holds a boxing record of 24 wins and 5 losses.

The said fight will be a tune-up for the Filipino fighter because he might battle Roman Martinez of Puerto Rico for the Super Featherweight title as undercard of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight should everything be settled between the two pound-for-pound best boxers of the world. This is another big break for the Michael Farenas because he will have a chance to take a shot at the championship belt.

I just wanna thank you to Jay San Pedro, Washio Kosuke and Mr. Ernesto Yu of Pagoda,Phils. Men like them is a blessing to the boxing community because they have done so much to make boxers' dreams come true by promoting and sponsoring boxing events. Special thanks to Ronnie Nathanielsz too. His Main Event Boxing Show on TV is an ideal media to promote the sports and to reach boxing fans everywhere in the country.

I will be expecting another knock-out victory from Michael Farenas. He has never been defeated in his last 20 fights and the fight on Friday will be another addition to his impressive boxing record. He is a hardworking and a dedicated boxer and will surely be compensated for his effort just to secure his win.

I am inviting all boxing fans to watch the said explosive fight on Friday at Mandaluyong Gym. Your support to our Pinoy boxers will serve as an inspiration for them to attain personal pride and glory for their country.

Ito po si Gerry Pe?alosa para sa isang masaya at maaksyong balitaan. Hanggang sa muli.
