Unknown to many, WBC Youth superbantam champ Bernabe Concepcion arrived in the United States a few days ago and trained at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles today with superstar Manny Pacquiao.
"They trained together on the same ring today," said a source from Concepcion's inner circle.
Concepcion, who is managed by Aljoe Jaro, will defend his title on the April 14 'Blaze of Glory' card against American Benjamin Flores in a 10-round scrap.
The bout is scheduled for ten rounds, and Concepcion's youthful manager Aljoe Jaro says his ward is now ready to rumble.
"Labang-laban na ang bata ko. Gusto nang makipagbakbakan," (My boy is aching to fight now. He wants to rumble, said Jaro in an earlier interview.
Concepcion, who uses the mouthpiece custom-made for him by renowned orthodontist Ed De la Vega of Los Angeles, picked up the WBC Youth superbantam title with a definitive 10-round unanimous decision over Mexican Joksan Hernandez last November 18 in Las Vegas, and although the fight was not aired, the young Filipino bomber received great fan reactions as well as tremendous boost in his stock.
