NBA -- Knicks stomp Lakers, 110-103

NEW YORK -- All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony led the New York Knicks to a victory over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Anthony scored 35 points as an encore to his historic 62 point night on Friday.

The Knicks were also paced by 20 points from point guard Raymond Felton and 18 points off the bench for rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. A healthy Tyson Chandler contributed with a double-double of 13 points and 14 boards.

The Lakers were led by guard Jodie Meeks who scored 24 points, including 6-8 from three point range. Center Pau Gasol added 20 points and 13 rebounds.

The Lakers cut the Knicks lead to a mere two points with just under six minutes to go in the game. The Knicks were able to hold on for the win thanks to six straight points from Anthony at this critical point of the game.

The Lakers' Kobe Bryant is due to have his knee examined after the Lakers return to Los Angeles tomorrow. Bryant told reporters he is anxious to return to the court, depending on his medical team's advice. The Knicks will face the Boston Celtics on Tuesday evening at The Garden.
