Two Filipino boxers have lost in WBA regional title fights at the Donbass Arena in Donetsk, Ukraine.
Juan Purisima lost by a near shutout to Artem Dalakian in a WBA flyweight International title fight while Jason ?Dodong? Canoy lost by a 7th round technical decision to Oleksandr Hryschuk in a WBA flyweight Intercontinental title fight on the same card.
The undefeated 26 year Dalakian improved his record to 8-0 with 5 knockouts while the 22 year old Purisima dropped to 11-4-1 with 4 knockouts.
All three judges had Dalakian winning comfortably by scores of 120-115, 120-106 and 119-106.
The 27 year old Hryshchuk also kept his unbeaten in record intact with the win over Canoy and improved to 13-0 with 5 knockouts while the 23 year old Canoy dropped to 16-4-2 with 11 knockouts.
Hryshchuk won the vacant WBA Intercontinental 112 pound title with a 2nd round TKO over Gabor Molnar of Hungary last April 5 while Dalakian won the vacant WBA International 112 pound crown with a 1st round knockout of David Kanalas last April 5.
