Japanese fight woman Miyuu Yamamoto (1-1, 1 KO) scored an impressive round 3 TKO win over Chika Taguchi in her 2nd pro fight last Tuesday, September 15, at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Born in Kawasaki, the 52-year-old Miyuu Yamamoto overpowered the brave Taguchi to capture her first win as a pro boxer. 👍
Yamamoto brings a remarkable combat sports pedigree. She enjoyed a long and successful career in wrestling, winning the World Wrestling Championship three times before transitioning to MMA.
Now, Miyuu Yamamoto pursues on a new big challenge: pro boxing!
However, due to Japan's age restrictions for pro boxer licenses, Yamamoto was unable to obtain a license in Japan.
So, the smart Miyuu secured a pro boxing license in Australia, which allows her to fight in Japan.
After making her pro debut in Sydney last March, Yamamoto finally had the opportunity to fight in her homeland last Tuesday, an appearance that generated great anticipation in Japanese boxing.
Though born in Japan, Yamamoto holds a Canadian passport and fights under her Australian pro boxing license.
She is now training for her next fight scheduled for later this year. Miyuu is guided by coach former 3-division world champion Hozumi Hasegawa.
Fueled by passion for the sport, Miyuu Yamamoto is moving full steam ahead in her pro boxing career, proving once again that age is just a number, not a obstacle when passion and determination are there, diba?
