TAMPA, FLORIDA--The 'Bazooka' Ike Quartey touched down in Tampa, Florida a few hours ago, ready to meet WBC/WBA light middleweight king Winky Wright this Saturday at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Quartey and his team immediately proceeded to the Hyatt Regency Tampa, where they met Golden Boy Promotions vice-president Eric Gomez at the lobby.
Wright, meanwhile, showed tremendous form during a public workout outside the Forum earlier, together with Jeff Lacy, who is fighting in the chief support.
Young phenom Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista, as of presstime, now weighs 122.8 lbs after a light run this morning then followed it up with a quick dip at the hotel's pool where he caught up with the legendary Oscar De la Hoya running on the treadmill at the gym, apparently gearing up for his historic showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr on May 5.
The final press conference takes place today at the St. Pete Times Forum, where the main protagonists and undercard fighters will declare that indeed, The Heat is On!
