The Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Keith Kizer, has informed the Manila Standard that both Ring Magazine pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and WBO/WBA lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez have been tested and found negative for steroids or any other performance enhancing drugs.
Kizer told The Standard ?The steroid and drugs tests for Mr. Pacquiao and Mr. Marquez are in. They were all negative (as were Mr. Timothy Bradley?s).?
Last November 19, the NSAC executive director sent us an email in which he said ?Marquez negative, still waiting on Pacquiao?s result. (Both boxers passed their pre-fight steroid tests.)?
Kizer also indicated that there was no specific rule that a fighter can only drink water in-between rounds after it was noticed that Marquez was drinking a colored liquid.
He said Marquez was given permission to use a substance that would help him rehydrate and that Pacquiao?s camp was informed so they could do the same.
Kizer also emphasized that the substance Marquez took was tested.
