World title challenger Jether Oliva, just fresh off his disappointing IBF world title loss to 2 time world champion Ulisyses Solis of Mexico, has arrived in the United States.
Oliva who gave an inspired performance against the rugged Solis was rewarded by his management and promotional team of American Ken Smith and Sammy Gello-ani with an all expenses paid vacation to Washington in the USA. Oliva, a 24 year old Filipino from General Santos City who gave a gutsy effort in his first attempt at the world title will spend the next week touring some of Washington's landmarks.
In addition to Oliva's much deserved vacation it was also reported to Philboxing that Oliva was allowed to keep his entire purse as a reward for his gallant effort against the Mexican world champion. It was also reported that Oliva is already being arranged for a US training session in the near future in preparation for a possible WBO world title fight down the line against newly crowned mini-fly champion Moises Fuentes.
