LIPA, BATANGAS -- In a hotly contested bout promoted by SGG Sports and Sampson Promotions LLC in coordination with Batangas mayor Meynard A. Sabili, undefeated Cavite prospect Jerwin 'Pretty Boy' Ancahas outclassed rugged youth contender Rex Tito via unanimous decision here Saturday night.
The judges scores were Sammy Bernabe, 97-93, Ferdinand Estrella, 97-93, and Eppie Almeda, 99-91 all for Ancahas. The referee of the bout was lawyer Danrex Tapdasan.
Ancahas used his speed and counter-punching throughout the fight to dismantle his foe. Rex Tito was a late substitution after the original opponent Pumar sustained a hand injury.
Ancahas has now improved his undefeated record to 10 wins with 5 knockouts and becomes the 4th Filipino fighter to receive a youth crown from the WBO.
