Rising Filipino prospect Mercito 'No Mercy' Gesta made short work of Genaro Trazancos by dispatching the game Mexican in the 3rd round of their scheduled 8-round rematch at the Longshoreman Hall, San Francisco, California Friday night.
Trazancos took a lot of punishment from Gesta right from the opening bell wobbling the Mexican several times. A left by Gesta that landed squarely to Trazancos' jaw in the third round almost sent the Mexican to the canvas. During the break, the referee declared Trazancos unfit to continue for a TKO victory by the Mandadue, Cebu native.
Gesta previously defeated the Los Mochis native Trazancos via 7th round stoppage on August 20, 2010 at Casino del Sol in Tucson, Arizona.
Gesta has now upped his undefeated record to 21 wins with 1 draw. Trazancos went down to 22 wins against 14 losses and 1 draw.
Meanwhile, Gesta's parents will receive an award in behalf of their son during the Sportswriters Association of Cebu awarding
Friday afternoon (early Saturday morning in California) in Cebu City giving recognition to Mercito's exploits in the ring.
