PACQUIAO, NAZARIO MEET; CEBU TRIP ON

Reigning featherweight king Manny Pacquiao and his business manager finally met yesterday, not just once, but twice and seemed to have found a common solution to their on-going differences.

Nazario, however, did not budge on his earlier pronouncement that Pacquiao should choose between him and Pacquiao's current team, which includes trainer Freddie Roach and manager Shelly Finkel.

?We finally met twice. But as I have said, I told Manny that I would have nothing to do with him if continues with his new management team, led by Shelly Finkel,? Nazario said in an interview with Manila mediamen.

Last Thursday evening, Pacquiao and Nazario met for the first time since the March 19 fight in Las Vegas, as the Filipino fighter visited Nazario at the latter's Wild Card Gym in Para?aque City.

?His ?bodyguards? came into my office first. Then Manny sheepishly slipped. Nag-mano pa nga,? Nazario was quoted as saying.

?Then we went over the issues one by one. I gave him the lowdown on his taxes, the pay-per-view, everything. He just nodded,? he added. ?But I told him my decision remains. It?s either them (Finkel and company) or me.?

Nazario, who has built up Pacquiao into a superstar since Blow-by-Blow days, also said: ?The new management team used Manny,? pointing out that the fighter only got a net $400,000 from his $1.75-million purse.

Nazario also reminded Pacquiao of his 10 percent share as business manager, and reportedly Pacquiao was willing to give $100,000.

"Manny gave me $20,000, promising the difference in installments from the purses of his future fights, so what is actually left of his purse is $300,000.?

The second meeting happened during lunch yesterday as Pacquiao asked Nazario once again to change his position.

?But my reply remained the same. Either he drops his new management team, particularly Freddie Roach, or I will no longer remain by his side. I told him my decision is final.?

Nazario said Manny answered: ?I will think it over.?

Meanwhile, reports coming out of the L&M Gym have indicated that Pacquiao and Nazario have agreed once again to make a trip together to Cebu following an invitation by Cebu boxing promoter Wakee Salud.

Pacquiao will grace the April 27 OPBF title defense of Randy Suico against Thai Muangfahlek Kiatwichien in Lapu-Lapu City, which is promoted by Salud.

Suico is a close buddy of the reigning featherweight king.
