The waiting is almost over. As fight week kicks off in London, the buzz surrounding 21-year-old heavyweight sensation Moses Itauma has reached a crescendo. This Saturday, August 29, at the O2 Arena, Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) faces the most formidable challenge of his career when he meets Croatian powerhouse Filip Hrgovic (20-1, 15 KOs)—with the vacant IBF World Heavyweight Championship hanging in the balance.
The bout marks a true crossroads for the division. Tipped as the future kingpin of the heavyweights, Itauma stands on the brink of history. A victory on Saturday would see the young prodigy become the second-youngest heavyweight world champion in boxing history at 21 years and 8 months, trailing only Mike Tyson, who won his first title at age 20.
While Itauma’s rapid rise has been defined by eye-catching knockouts—most recently stopping American contender Jermaine Franklin Jr. in five rounds and tearing through veteran Dillian Whyte in a single round—Hrgovic represents a massive step up in quality and durability.

"A lot of people have high expectations of him, as I have by the way," Warren told the BBC. "We signed him when he was 16, he was an amateur. We sponsored him and he turned professional with us. And he’s been amazing and sort of taken the world by storm. This is a big moment for him, but I’m confident he can do it."
