The Philippines' Chezka Centeno finished as the runner-up in the 2026 WPBA Classic's Players Championship held in Lauderhill, Florida, this Wednesday.
She lost in the finals to Chinese Taipei's Chou Chieh-Yu, 10-3.
Centeno received $11,000 for her efforts.
Chou started her campaign strongly, taking a 4-1 lead at the beginning of the match.
From there, Chou remained calm and gave Centeno few opportunities to come back.
There was a slight chance at 6-3 when Chou made a mistake on the 2-ball, but Centeno couldn't capitalize and missed the 8-ball in response.
Chou regained control and finished the match 10-3 to claim the title.
Prior to this, Centeno defeated 4-time world champion Han Yu of China, 8-2, in the semifinals, and Wang Wan Ling of Chinese Taipei, 8-4, in the quarterfinals.
Centeno also defeated former world no. 1 Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, 8-2, and Brittany Bryant of Canada, 8-6.
She also triumphed over Wei Tzu Chien of Chinese Taipei, 8-5, and Kristina Zlateva of Bulgaria, 8-5.
Centeno is now focused on Las Vegas, where she will compete in the Las Vegas Women's Open. -Marlon Bernardino-
