Manny Pacquiao Chess Philippines: Cash prizes, FIDE rating at stakes this Sunday

Beginner participants in the Manny Pacquiao Chess Philippines Individual Open Rapid Chess Tournament (FIDE-rated) will have the chance to earn a FIDE Rating (international rating). The event will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Pavilion Mall, Greenfield District, beside MRT Shaw Boulevard station, Corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City.

Sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) and the Games and Amusement Board (GAB), this FIDE-rated rapid chess tournament is open to all players regardless of gender and age.

The champion will take home ₱10,000, while the 2nd and 3rd placers will receive ₱7,000 and ₱5,000 respectively. The 4th to 7th placers will get ₱3,500, ₱1,500, ₱800, and ₱700, and the 8th to 10th placers will each receive ₱500.

Cash prizes also await the top performer for U-2000 Below, U-1950 Below, U-1900 Below, U-1850 Below, 50 to 64 years old, 65 over, PWD and Lady.

Supported by former Senator Manny Pacquiao and Jun Lasco, the tournament is organized by John Salcedo and Jonas Silvano.
