In a bold push to promote financial empowerment at the grassroots level, Julien Lhuillier, son of Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier and a known Philippine sports patron, held Tee Up Your Future, a tailored financial literacy program for golf caddies, attended by 20 participants from Alabang Country Club.
Designed to guide caddies in their financial wellness journey and ensure they are prepared for the future—the program blends practical lessons with real-life applications. Participants gain essential financial skills in saving, budgeting, SMART goal setting, emergency planning, debt management, and early investing. Each participant was given a free micro-savings account with seed money and HMO coverage through Cebuana Lhuillier HealthMax.
“This initiative is deeply personal to me because I have worked with them before as a junior golfer, seen their situation, and gotten to know some of them,” said Julien Lhuillier. “Golf caddies play a crucial role on the course—but too often, they’re left out of opportunities for financial growth. With this program, we’re giving them the tools to succeed beyond the fairway—with clarity, confidence, and control over their future.”
