PALAWAN OPBF UPDATE!

Puerto Princesa, Palawan--Both Along Denoy of ALA Boxing Gym and Sonny Boy Jaro of Aljoe Jaro Stable easily made weight during official weigh-in held hours ago here.

The two fighters battle it out for the vacant OPBF light-flyweight title recently vacated by Juanito Rubillar, who won a split decision over Omar Nino to earn for him the mandatory status against WBC champ Edgar Sosa.

Tomorrow's event is presented by In This Corner, Governor Joel Reyes and the Palawan Provincial Government and will be telecast on Sunday, 7 to 9PM in one of the national channels.

This major event is organized by the power team made up of boxing stalwarts Rod Nazario, Moy Lainez, Lito Mondejar and Gerry Garcia before the group flies to the United States on Sunday to be at ringside for Manny Pacquiao's battle against David Diaz.

Jaro vs Denoy promises to be a slambang affair, with both fighters looking extremely sharp and ready for the fight.

The 8-bout card will also feature the RP superfly title defense of Richard Olisa who will go up against challenger Danilo Pena in the other 12-round encounter.

Ronald Pontillas takes on Sonny Gonzalez, Michael Landero battles Roel Lagunero; and Dan Nazareno Jr. goes up against Jury Noda all for ten rounds.

Former WBC International minimumweight champ Gabriel Pumar, now fighting out of the Aljoe Jaro Stable, will also return in an 8-round tiff with the very dangerous Daniel Ferreras.

Quilver Cailing trades leathers with Eljune Leonardo (6 rds) while Ariel Cardoza takes on Remy Quimbot (4 rds).
