DIPOLOG CITY, Zamboanga del Norte---Fide Master Robert Suelo Jr. was impressed by the talents of the Dipolognon having drawn seven games in his one day simultaneous exhibition in Dipolog City last week, May 13, 2022.
Dipolog City Chess Association President and National Arbiter Ronald Truno Solon said, "He was impressed by our chess players' enthusiasm and love for chess. He finds our youth players very strong."
Suelo, 2006 Philippine Junior Champion eked out 11 wins, tied seven matches at the Busog 28 Main, National Highway Minaog (Infront DICT) in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte last Friday that draw a total of 18 participants.
He forced deadlocks with Elvis Longjas, Teodor Mangubat, Jillianne Jumalon, Mhilter C. Edombingo, Jenifer Alicayos, Reanald Bolingot and Mindanao Chess God Father Edelburgo L. Cheng.
"It is a great honor and privilege to participate at this simultaneous games which has a great chess significance," said Longjas, Works at DepEd Philippines.
Solon, meanwhile thanked Busog 28 CEO Michael "Mike" Tamonan, Cendy Magallanes and former Vice Mayor Bebs Cheng for supporting Suelo's visit and exhibition games.-Marlon Bernardino-
