PICHAY, TOLENTINO SHARE TOP HONORS IN NCFP ELECTION

MANILA, Philippines---As expected, Surigao del Sur representative Prospero "Butch" Pichay Jr. and 7th District Cavite representative Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino Jr. share the top honors in the just ended National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) election on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Golden Bay Restaurant, Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City.

Pichay and Tolentino, both accumulated 28 points to lead the 15 new set National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) board of directors.

Thus Pichay re-elected his chairman/president post while Tolentino remained his secretary-general position. The good lawnmaker of 7th district Cavite Tolentino is also the secretary-general of the World Chess Federation (FIDE).

Atty. Cliburn Anthony Orbe, former Bayan Muna Partylist rep. Neri Javier Colmenares, Atty. Ruel Canobas, Judge Gonzalo Mapili, Atty. Edmundo Legaspi and DepEd Usec Tonisito Umali was re-elected again in their respective positions.

Orbe, the president of the newly formed Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) is the federation treasurer.

The new member of the 15 board of directors includes Spartan Mining head Louie Ramos, Data Specialist Martin Gaticales of PLDT Inc, Angkla Partylist rep. Jesulito Manalo, Amon, Cesar Tan Jr., Bollozos and Waldo Geli.
