Belfast -- More longtime Belfast Filipinos trooped to Radisson BLU hotel to welcome and provide defending IBF junior bantamweight champion Jerwin Ancajas moral support in his fight against local fighter Jamie Conlan on November 18 at the SSE arena.
They are spouses Oscar & Mary Ann Giron, spouses Pepito, Jr. & Ilyne Delos Reyes, Kessel Yee & Jay Villanueva. They followed the team to Clayton hotel for the press conference.
Jerwin is very pleased and team Ancajas appreciates very much their kind and concerned gesture. Team Ancajas is made to feel at home when informed that there are about 5,000 Filipinos in Belfast cheering for the Filipino champion.
These Filipinos wanted to invite the team for meals in their homes but could not be obliged as the team is watching Jerwin's good health 'till fight time. They, however, booked the team's limited time from after the fight up to the team's departure for home the following morning.
The group's Filipino style encouragement really goes a long way in giving Jerwin the much needed boost to Jerwin's confidence in winning the fight for the country's boxing glory.
