IBF world junior bantamweight champion Jerwin Ancajas arrived in Brisbane, Australia on 25 June 2017 for his 2nd title defense against Teiro Kinoshita of Japan. Kinoshita is the 3rd ranked challenger in the IBF 115-lb division. Considering that there are no numbers 1 & 2 listed contenders, Kinoshita is the top ranked pretender to Jerwin's crown.

Joven Jimenez, Jerwin's manager & chief trainer, is confident Jerwin will give a spectacular performance being ready, cofident and happy to be again fighting in a card where 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao's own defense of the WBO welterweight title is the main event.

As an IBF world title fight, Jerwin's defense is the main supporting event to the Pacquiao-Horn main event.

Jerwin is very well motivated that his fight, being carried by ESPN, will be watched by a worldwide audience. Jimenez and Jerwin express their gratitude to Top Rank and Manny Pacquiao for the opportunity to be fighting as the main supporting bout to the Pacquiao-Horn fight.
