MINNEAPOLIS - Zach LaVine had a stellar night --- 28 points, 8 assists and 8 boards ---- but it still was not enough for the host Minnesota Timberwolves, who fell prey to the hot-shooting Utah Jazz, 112-103, at the Target Center.
Playing in front of 9,384 home fans the Timberwolves managed just 44.4 percent from the field while the visiting Jazz nailed 50.6 percent of their shots. Utah also out-rebounded Minnesota, 50-41.
Karl Anthony Towns finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds in a losing effort while Andrew Wiggins chipped in 13 points. Gorgui Dieng shared 11 and Shabazz Muhammad had 10 off the bench.
"It's very concerning from the standpoint of wanting to make progress. That's the important thing, every day make progress, make progress. We didn't make progress today" Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said.
The Jazz twin towers were instrumental to the tram's third straight victory. Rudy Gobert, a 7'1 center, had 16 points and 17 boards while 6-foot-8 power forward Boris Diaw had 7 points and 5 dimes.
George Hill and Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 24 points each.
"Obviously, Rudy (Gobert) is formidable at the rim. People are looking around for him. But when he goes to block shots, that
's when everybody else has to contribute on the glass" Jazz head coach Quinn Synder told reporters post-game.

The Timberwolves (5-12) will host New York on Wednesday night while the Jazz head home to play the Houston Rockets on Tuesday.
