NBA -- ​Jazz tune out ​Wolves​, 112-103​

MINNEAPOLIS - Zach LaVine ​ had a stellar night --- ​28 points, 8 assists and 8 boards ​---- but it still ​was not enough ​for ​​the host ​Minnesota Timberwolves​, who fell ​prey to the hot-shooting Utah Jazz, ​112-103, at the Target Center.

​Playing in front of ​9,384 home fans the Timberwolves ​managed just 44.4 percent from the field while the visiting Jazz nailed 50.6 percent of their shots. Utah also out-rebounded Minnesota, 50-41.​

Karl​ ​Anthony Towns ​finished with ​19 points and 12 rebounds ​in a losing effort while ​ Andrew Wiggins chipped in 13 points​.​ Gorgui Dieng shared 11 and Shabazz Muhammad had 10 off the bench.

"It's very concerning from the standpoint of wanting to make​ progress. That's the important​ ​thing, every day make progress, make progress​. W​e didn't make progress today" Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said.

The Jazz twin towers were ​instrumental to the tram's third straight victory.​ Rudy Gobert​, a ​ 7'1 center​, had 16 points and 17 boards while 6-foot-8 power forward Boris Diaw ​ ​had 7 points and 5 dimes. ​

George Hill ​and Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 24 points each. ​

"Obviously, Rudy (Gobert) is formidable at the rim. People are looking around for him. But when he goes to block shots, that

​'​s when everybody else has to contribute on the glass" Jazz head coach Quin​n​ Synder told ​reporters post-game. ​

The Timberwolves (5-12) will host ​New York on ​Wednesday night ​while the Jazz head home to play the Houston Rockets on Tuesday.​
