WNBA Finals -- Sparks move 1 win away from title

MINNEAPOLIS -- The twin towers of proved too much for Minnesota as the L.A. Sparks moved to within a win of capturing this year's championship following a 92-75 victory on Friday night at the Galen Center in the campus of the University of Southern California (USC).

In front of a boisterous home crowd of 8,093 fans, Candance Parker finished with ​24 points and 9 rebounds while reigning league MVP Nneka Ogwumike ​pumped in 21 points and 9 boards. ​With a 2-1 lead in this best-of-6 series, the Sparks go for their franchise's third title on Sunday at the Galen Center.

Essence Carson​ added 16 for Los Angeles while ​Game 1 ​hero ​Alana​ Beard had 16 Kristi Toliver​ settled for 6​.

​The defending champion Lynx got 14 each from Sylvua Fowles and Rebekkah Brunson. ​Seimone Augustus ​managed just ​11 points while 9 rebounds.

"Obviously we can't respond the way we did in the first quarter for any more time in this series because they're extremely good at converting those turnovers into points​,​" ​Lynx stalwart Maya Moore said.​
