Maasim, Sarangani Province, Philippines - The fighter they call "The Hammer" Harmonito dela Torre of SANMAN Promotions made weight Friday at the weigh-in for his 8 round bout with tested Richard "Tibay" Betos.
Dela Torre who was suppose to have his US debut last month but got postponed due to typhoon Lando's strong rain and winds. The WBF Super Featherweight Champion Dela Torre had to be inserted in the card of the Mepranum-Tabamo headliner in Sarangani so as not to let his training go to waste as earlier reported by his promoter JC Mananquil.
The prospect Dela Torre took to the scales and weighed in at 134 lbs. while Betos came in at 136.
"This will not be just a regular fight for Dela Torre as he needs to win impressively to secure his USA trip this December. There is pressure for Harmonito in this fight with Betos as he needs to impress Greg Cohen Promotions' people for them to feature Harmonito Dela Torre in their cards." Mananquil pronounced.
The Dela Torre-Betos tiff will be held at the Maasin Municipal Gymnasium Saturday November 14, 2015 which happens to fall on the same day as SANMAN Promotions fighter Raymond "Tornado" Tabugon's exciting and unanticipated match-up with tough and tested Juan "Churritos" Hernandez of Mexico's Promociones Del Pueblo of Oswaldo Kuchle.
IBO Intercontinental Champ Tabugon was a late replacement as the fighter earlier targeted by the Hernandez camp was a negative to travel to Mexico.
The Tabugon-Hernandez 10 round non-title bout will be the supporting main event for the "MEXICO CONTRA EL MUNDO" event headlined by Mexico's Adrian Estrella vs Orlen Padilla of Columbia in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
