ANAHEIM, CA -- Philippine Athletes competing in the 2015 Special Olympics World Games got a treat from a group of Filipino Cast members working at the Big Thunder Ranch of the Adventure Land here at Disneyland Anaheim.
Philboxing's Photo Journalist, Jayson Otamias, who works in Disneyland, rallied his friends and fellow cast members to pool a modest sum to buy gifts for the athletes. So, on Saturday afternoon, at the conclusion of all the events of the Special Olympics 2015 Los Angeles World Games, Jayson Otamias, assisted by some friends, surprised the Athletes with gifts of Disney t-shirts, key chains and other Park commemorative giveaways. Their sincere smiles and happy faces really warms your heart, says his Disney co-employees while watching the video that Jayson posted for them on Facebook. Other Disney cast members who saw the heart rending video, also wished that they had been invited as they wanted to pitch in their share too.
The World games events, held mostly at the sports grounds of UCLA and USC, here in California, will have the closing ceremonies today at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. According to the head of the Philippines delegation, in an interview with Jayson Otamias, the 35-strong Team Philippines had secured an impressive medal haul of 21 Golds, 14 Silvers, and 24 Bronzes.
