Inglewood, California -- Kazakhstan native and rising star Gennady Golovkin (L) stepped the scales at 159 lbs while his opponent Willie Monroe Jr of Ithaca, New York came in at 160 lbs during the official weighin Friday for their 12-round WBC, IBO and WBA world middleweight title bout. Knockout artist Golovkin (32-0-0, 29KO) looks to add another stoppage on his resume in the 14th defense of his middleweight belt while Monroe (19-1-0, 6KO) will try to frustrate his feared boxing opponent with his slick boxing style.
Co-featured on the telecast is 12-round junior flyweight matchup between World Boxing Council Champion ROMAN "Chocolatito" GONZALEZ, 42-0 (36KO's) and #2 ranked challenger and former world champion EDGAR SOSA, 51-8-0 (30KO's).
