SIXTH BOUT: DE LA ROSA BEATS ANGULO BY UD

MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA -- Mexicali slugger, Alfredo Angulo (22-4-0, 18KO) who now makes his home in Los Angeles was matched against James de la Rosa (22-2-0, 15KO) of San Bruno, Texas in a match that in paper appears even.
When the ten-second sound indicating the tail end of round 2 sounded, Angulo lost his focus and De la Rosa scored two hooks that threw Angulo against the ring ropes and referee Russell Mora scored it a knocked down and did the 8 count on Angulo.
The succeeding rounds were a give and take up until the last round when Angulo rallied. He knew he had to regain the 2 points lost in round 2.
But the judges called it the way the fight went, 98-90, 96-92 and 99-89 all for James de la Rosa,
