Tubieron vows to beat Doliguez
By Dennis U. Eroa PhilBoxing.com Tue, 02 Sep 2014
HE RESPECTS Jun ??Hercules?? Doliguez too much but the prospect of bigger fights and bragging right will make Elorde Boxing?s Dennis Tubieron a deadly boxer September 19 at the Mandaluyong Gym in Mandaluyong City.
??I respect Doliguez. He?s world-rated and is fearsome in the division. I want to beat him because I want to keep my dream of winning a world title alive,?? said the 5-foot-6 southpaw from Puerto Princesa City.
Tubieron, who trains under ex-pro Moy Mana-ay said he is in top physical condition. ??Win or lose, I want to give the fans a very good fight.??
Tubieron, Mana-ay, Doliguez and Saved by the Bell executive Danny Anuran guested in the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum last Tuesday at Shakey?s Malate.
Anuran, brother of Batangue?o sportsman and Saved by the Bell president Elmer, said the bout will be very exciting.
??True to SBB?s motto of not getting patsies, this is a fight between two world-class Pinoy fighters,?? said Anuran. This is a big fight for Jun because Dennis is a very tough foe.??
Nicknamed ??Scorpion?? because of his lethal punches, Tubieron said he?s ready even if the fight will go the distance.
Doliguez, who now trains under former world titlist Tacy Macalos and Dondon Jimenea, did not promise a knockout.
??If the opportunity arises, the knockout will come. I?ll follow the game plan because of Tubieron is very dangerous,?? said Doliguez.
Anuran thanked Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos for supporting the card.
Doliguez formerly lorded it over as WBO Oriental featherweight king, while Tubieron won the WBC International belt.
Earlier, Elmer Anuran, who also owns Touch Gloves Boxing Gym in Agoncillo, Batangas, said the fight is true to the aim of SBB to offer world-class bouts.
??SBB will give its boxers highly-qualified foes in order to thrill the fans,?? said the youthful Anuran, who is known for promoting action-packed boxing extravanganza.
The 5-foot-7 Doliguez, pride of Malungon, Sarangani, Province, has an impressive record of 19-1-2, 14 KOs, while Tubieron sports 18-3-1, 8 KOs.
