'EL NEGRO' RAMIREZ INVADES THE PHILIPPINES ONCE AGAIN IN TITLE FIGHT WITH FARENAS

PhilBoxing.com

Jose ?Negro? Ramirez (25-4-15KO), the tough grizzled Mexican who snatched the WBO International Featherweight title from local boy Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista last year in the beautiful city of Davao, is coming back to wreck havoc once again in a fight against one of the top super featherweights in the world, Michael ?Iron Fist? Farenas (37-4-29KO) in a WBO Oriental Super Featherweight Championship on March 14, 2014 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

M.A.G. Boxing Promotions, guided under ten time world champion Manny Pacquiao, two time world champion Gerry Penalosa and the talented sportsman Anson Tiu Co, is bringing the tough Mexican to the Philippines in another big test for Farenas.

This past Dec. 13, 2013 at the beautiful Solaire Casino and Resort, Farenas demolished the tough Mexican Jesus Rios (26-4-20KO) in two rounds. Rios came with some good credentials, but was overwhelmed by the heavy handed southpaw.

Farenas (L) downs Rios.

The tough Ramirez was quoted as saying, ?I am excited to return to the Philippines and once again make history by winning the championship belt. I will have my same team I had when I was in Davao and I know Farenas is tough, but I will be prepared once again and give the fans a great fight. If the Philippine fans loved my fight from before, they will be more impressed the second time around. We will arrive in the Philippines two weeks before the fight to acclimate once again to the Philippine weather. I want the same Filipino judges from my first fight, Salven Lagumbay, Atty. Danrex Tapdasan and Edward Ligas and also the tough referee Bruce McTavish, so if the promoter is listening, make it happen.?

The co-main event will feature the son of the former two time world champion Dodie Boy Penalosa and nephew of the former two time world champion Gerry Penalosa, Dave ?The Hunter? Penalosa (7-0-5KO) against tough Mexican from Chihuahua Mexico Ever ?El Negro? Ceballos (10-4-2KO).

Who knows, the winner of the Ramirez vs Farenas matchup can take on Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista who is moving up to the super featherweight class. Farenas vs Bautista was always a huge matchup that never happened as both were tops in the featherweight division but never materialized. A rematch with Ramirez for Bautista would also thrill the fans.
