Feider Viloria Not Coming to Cebu? Will Boom Boom Suffer Another Letdown? By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Tue, 20 Feb 2007 CEBU CITY -- After missing his flight last Saturday, Feider Viloria, Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista's Columbian opponent in this Saturday's 'Moment of Truth' boxing event, again fails to arrive today. Worst, Viloria and his team have not informed and updated SGG Promotions, the promoter of the event, about their whereabouts and on what time and date they were supposed to arrive in Cebu. "Feider Viloria has not confirmed flight details with us yet, and thus also his arrival to Cebu," the SGG Media Affairs said in a statement. Earlier reports indicated that Viloria, who was supposed to have a public workout together with Fernando Montiel this afternoon in Cebu, had encountered a transit visa problem in Amsterdam and will be arriving tomorrow, Wednesday. However, SGG Media Affairs has acknowledged that at this point, they do not know Viloria's definite arrival in Cebu. "Although he is scheduled to train this afternoon, there is no confirmed time yet (of his arrival). Even the date is not clear at this time," the SGG Media Affairs statement said. If Viloria would fail to come, it will be another letdown for the Boholano boxing phenom Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista -- unless a worthy replacement can immediately be found. Bautista had earlier missed two scheduled fights, first was a July 2, 2006 fight against Alejandro Felix Montiel of Mexico in the undercard of the huge Pacquiao vs Larios fight in Manila. Bautista suffered a serious case of flu days before the fight and so Bautista was replaced. Then his scheduled fight with Brazilian champion Giovanni Andrade in the undercard of the Barrera-Juarez II fight in Las Vegas on Sep. 16, 2006 was also shelved when Bautista suffered a collarbone fracture while in training at the Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles. The fight with Andrade was eventually pushed through on Dec. 2 in Tampa, Florida after Bautista's collarbone injury was healed. Bautista TKO'd Andrade in the 4th round.
