NBA -- Bulls disappoint, fall at home to Suns

CHICAGO -- While the Chicago Bulls have scored impressive victories over the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season -- once against the Miami Heat and thrice against the New York Knicks -- they have also fallen prey to the worst teams in the Western Conference, the New Orleans Hornets and the Charlotte Bobcats.
Saturday night at the United Center proved to be another one of those bad losses at home as the Bulls bowed to the Phoneix Suns, 97-81. The lowly Suns were just 3-for-20 in road games this season and they came to Chicago with a five-game road losing streak.
The Suns defied the usually stern Bulls defense by shooting 49. 3 percent from the field, including 6-for-14 from 3-land. Luis Scola had 22 points while Michael Beasly added 20..Guards Sebastian Telfair and Shannon Brown combined for 24 points for Phoenix, which outrebounded the Bulls, 46-42.
"There has been cloud hanging over us for a while. This game gives us hope," Beasly told NBA.com following the mild upset that improved the Suns' slate to 13-26.
For the Bulls, it was just disappointment.
"We have to play with more intensity, more of an edge. We didn't do that. I have to take a hard look at everything," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau told the Chicago Tribune.
Chicago shot just 32 of 88 field goals (36.4 percent), 2-of-11 threes (18.2 percent) and 15-of-21 free throws (71.4 percent).
Boozer led the Bulls with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Luol Deng had 13. Noah tallied 10 and 13 rebounds. (HDS)
